Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutual

The Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals (BCCM) is the national peak body representing the co-operative and mutual models of enterprise. It is the only organisation uniting the entire and diverse range of member owned businesses in Australia.

There is an estimated 1700 co-operative and mutual businesses working for a combined 13.5 million members in Australia. The BCCM exists to highlight the contribution co-operatives and mutuals make to the national economy and communities in Australia.

Get Mutual is made possible with the support of these great Australian mutual businesses.

Australian Unity

Australian Unity is a national healthcare, financial services and retirement living organisation providing services to around 850,000 customers, including 300,000 members nationwide. Australian Unity’s history as a trusted mutual organisation dates back 175 years.

It has grown organically—by continually evolving and providing the services and products needed by the communities it serves—as well as through successful strategic mergers and diversification into new business activities.

HCF was established in 1932 to provide the community with the means of insuring against the cost of hospital care. Since then, it has grown to become one of Australia’s largest combined private health insurance and life insurance organisations and is Australia’s largest no-for-profit health insurer.

Now protecting over 1.5 million Australia’s, HCF’s core philosophy is that it operates for the benefit of its entire membership by having the interests of its members at its heart.

As Australia’s largest member organisation, NRMA Motoring & Services provides a range of services for our members and the community, including our legendary roadside assistance, International Drivers Licences, car reviews, a diverse range of motoring, travel and lifestyle benefits, as well as products and services.
